Our Award!
We are pleased and honoured to announce that on the last day of July, 2015, in the Ball Room of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Golden Duck Tour Guides Association received The City of Warsaw Merit Award. The award is meant to recognize the various services Golden Duck has performed in helping to promote the city of Warsaw.
Royal Baths Park
Welcome to Łazienki Królewskie – Royal Baths Park sometimes called "the happiest place in Warsaw".
It is over seventy hectares of greenery and beautiful, historic buildings and sculptures. The Palace on the Isle remembers "Thursday dinners" and the drafting of the text of the Constitution of May 3, and you can also see (though not taste!) wonderfully preserved royal chocolates there. The Old Orangery houses one of the few 18th-century court theaters in Europe. The amphitheater soothes the senses with the sound of water, the White House delights with its grotesques and the water reservoir astonishes with its shape... Let's add to this the Art Nouveau monument of Frederic Chopin, the Greek "navel of the world", Marshal Piłsudski's Cadillac, and many other attractions.
See you!

Chopin and his World
Chopin and his World
When we think ‘Chopin’ we hear delicate and almost unearthly sounds of a piano coming out of the heavy instrument under the touch of the master’s fingers. Our walk is a journey through the places that still exist – the streets, the churches, the gardens and squares – during which your imagination and our guide’s knowledge will create a time vehicle, carrying us to the Warsaw of Fryderyk Chopin. With little effort, we will visualize Chopin playing with a ball, reading in a garden, marching down the street to the musical instrument shop... But remember, those sights will be faint and transient as compared to the powerful sounds of his famous Revolutionary Etude.

Museum of Warsaw
Visit the Museum of Warsaw!
"Extraordinary stories of ordinary things" – that’s on the website of this museum.
Agreed, although many things in the Museum of Warsaw are very unusual. The museum is located in eight tenement houses on the northern frontage of the Old Town Square. From medieval cellars to the observation lantern on the roof, it presents visitors with the history of the Polish capital. In numerous cabinets (Archaeological, Plans and Maps, Clothing, etc.) we can find a women's chamber pot from the 18th century, a wonderful treasure of over a thousand silver coins discovered in the basement, priceless watches by Mr. Antoni Patek, a fragment of the robe of the last Masovian princes (brothers - supposedly poisoned by their common lover), a cigarette case of President Stefan Starzyński, a lemonade bottle of the famous Haberbusch and Schiele company (known mainly from delicious beer), a saucer with Pablo Picasso's autograph and priceless paintings... There is not enough space to list even a small part of the exhibits. For those tired of sightseeing, there is a café and a bookstore with unique souvenirs.

Warsaw - the Heartbeat of Poland
Warsaw - the Heartbeat of Poland
The capital of Poland, seat of the Parliament (Sejm and Senate) as well as most of the government agencies and institutions, the largest metropolis in the country, the city of million opportunities and a springboard to a better life... Thoughts like these usually come to the minds of the people hearing the word “Warsaw”. Yet, that description of the city lacks many important elements – like the incredible history, wonderful buildings, amazing cultural attractions of any kind and stories of ordinary and exceptional people who, through the centuries, made Warsaw the spectacular city it is now.
Welcome to our walk which will show you the riches and variety of the history, traditions and culture of Warsaw!

Medieval Warsaw
Medieval Warsaw
Is it possible that, once upon a time, the whole city of Warsaw was squeezed into an area which nowadays forms the Old City? It surely did! Welcome to the days when stone houses at the Old Market Square were quite a novelty; when the biggest and most welcome show was public execution of a criminal; and when a short walk to the New Town Market Square was a journey to another city; no to mention the fact that the actual capital of Poland was then some four hundred kilometers to the south.
Welcome to the Medieval Warsaw - long gone and still waiting to be revived in your imagination!

Jewish Warsaw
Jewish Warsaw
There was a time when a common citizen of Warsaw was not surprised to see a Jew walking down the street wearing his typical overalls, a skull-cap (yarmulke) and long side locks. It was also not surprising to see a rabbi with a fox coat and hat rushing to one of many Warsaw synagogues or, to hear a quarrel of two stockbrokers discussing their business in Yiddish. Just before the Second World War, people of Jewish origin made up thirty percent of all the population of Warsaw. Barbaric cruelty by German occupation during the war reduced that number to almost zero.
Welcome to our walk through centuries of the old and the lost world of Warsaw-Jewish culture, tradition and history!

Communist Era in Warsaw
Communist Era in Warsaw
Warsaw rebounded from the absolutely horrible devastation of the 2nd World War, but the city was to have a new look – one designed by people whose ambition was to create a brave, new and “only correct” world – with the new and “only correct” architecture and art.
The walk will take us through examples of architecture of that time which continues to create the “perfect” image of the city and through the streets still displaying both socialistic and realistic pieces of art.

The Wild Bank
Walking ecological tour along the green bank of the Vistula River!
Visit the green wonder in Warsaw, unique on a European scale! Over a length of approximately thirty kilometers, on the Warsaw Vistula, mainly on its eastern bank, a riparian forest grows in a narrow strip.
Riparian forests - extraordinary jungles - are the equivalent of rainforests in our latitude, and the richness of life found there is comparable to that of the Amazon River flowing through South America. Five percent of these forests have been preserved in Poland, of which 1 percent are old riparian forests growing in the original place - and we are lucky because in Western Europe there are virtually no riparian forests anymore. Although it is hard to believe, in the green heart of the Polish capital one can spot about forty species of mammals - both very large (moose) and the smallest in the country (little shrew). Both the tallest tree in Warsaw (poplar) and the smallest vascular plant in Europe (rootless duckweed) grow here.
There are walking and cycling paths, places for bonfires and barbecues, and vast and clean beaches overlooking the river and the city. Come with us to the wild shore and listen to our stories!
