Welcome to the days when stone houses at the Old Market Square were quite a novelty; when the biggest and most welcome show was public execution of a criminal; and when a short walk to the New Town Market Square was a journey to another city; no to mention the fact that the actual capital of Poland was then some four hundred kilometers to the south.
