Walking ecological tour along the green bank of the Vistula River!

Visit the green wonder in Warsaw, unique on a European scale! Over a length of approximately thirty kilometers, on the Warsaw Vistula, mainly on its eastern bank, a riparian forest grows in a narrow strip.

Riparian forests - extraordinary jungles - are the equivalent of rainforests in our latitude, and the richness of life found there is comparable to that of the Amazon River flowing through South America. Five percent of these forests have been preserved in Poland, of which 1 percent are old riparian forests growing in the original place - and we are lucky because in Western Europe there are virtually no riparian forests anymore. Although it is hard to believe, in the green heart of the Polish capital one can spot about forty species of mammals - both very large (moose) and the smallest in the country (little shrew). Both the tallest tree in Warsaw (poplar) and the smallest vascular plant in Europe (rootless duckweed) grow here.

There are walking and cycling paths, places for bonfires and barbecues, and vast and clean beaches overlooking the river and the city. Come with us to the wild shore and listen to our stories!
